Canal boat in front of Anne Frank's house in Amsterdam. All the streets were covered with snow and ice.
Interesting shutters on a building across the canal from Anne Frank's house. Most of these were built in the 1600's - on 45-foot logs that were driven into the soft mud to support them. Many of them lean forward - for two reasons (according to the canal boat tour guide) - one is to make them look larger, the other is to keep furniture away from the front of the house as it is hoisted up and down when people move.
A couple entering the side door of Westkirk.
